Farmer, Farmer, What Do You See?

This week we're wrapping up our farm animals unit before we head from down at the farm to under the sea!
We loved dancing and singing along to these fun farm tunes:

We also read Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and adapted it to Brown Cow, Brown Cow, What Do You See? The little ones loved both Eric Carle's version and ours!
Here are some more pictures of us finishing up our mini-books!

Next week we'll be heading from the farm to the beach to have some fun in the sun and the sea! Here in Málaga, we've had some gorgeous weather lately and I'm definitely itching to get my toes in the sand. But for now, an ice cream and a walk by the beach will have to do!

My beach- and sea-creature-themed pack, filled with math and literacy centers and lots of craftivities, should be up on my TPT store sometime this week. Here's a little peek at the cover!

Down on the Farm & a SALE!

Moo! Oink! Cock-a-doodle-doo! This week, we'll be working on our farm animals unit. Last week we learned about the farm animals (They were surprised to find out that sheep had tails!), practiced describing them and guessed the different animals by the noises they make.

This week we'll be finishing up our interactive readers to take home and practice reading in English! First, we colored the animals for the story.

Then students had to read and guess the farm animal by its description. Once they figured out which animal it was, they had to cut out and glue the animal onto the page to complete their readers!
This interactive emergent reader is part of my farm animals unit, Down on the Farm. Click on the pictures below to check it out!

Last but not least, in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, TPT is having a sale! The products in my store will be on sale Tuesday and Wednesday this week!

We Recycle, Yes We Do!

In Spain, Earth Day is a bit overlooked, so I jumped at the chance to generate some Reduce-Reuse-Recycle awareness amongst my little ones. We started by learning these catchy songs, which they picked up in no time!

We also created a beautiful Earth Day mural out of recycled paper to display at the school entrance for all the Moms and Dads to see!

We talked about the planet Earth and why it's blue and green and then made a We Recycle! Earth magnet for our fridge to remember to recycle at home! My preschoolers also became pros at separating trash into the different recycling containers, gray for organic, green for glass, blue for paper and yellow for plastic.

To wrap up this special week and tie the celebration into Book Day (April 23rd), we read Big Earth, Little Me. My preschoolers loved this book and the interactive lift-the-flaps design. They also had no trouble relating the positive Earth-friendly habits back to their own lives!

The songs and magnet craftivity, along with lots of other fun activities, are part of my Let's Go Green Earth Day Pack.
